Artwork Guidelines
Uploading images to our design lab is simple and easy. Click the “Add Image” button located on the right hand navigation. From there, you can browse files on your computer and select an image. The design lab accepts the following image formats:
- JPEG web image (.jpg/.jpeg)
- GIF web image (.gif)
- Bitmap image (.bpm)
- PNG image (.png)
- Postscript file (.ps)
- Tagged image (.tiff/.tif)
- EPS vector image (.eps)
- Photoshop doc (.psd)
Choose a high-resolution image to produce a high-quality print. Images on mugs and smaller products should be at least 480 x 360 ppi (pixels per inch), while t-shirt designs should be at least 800 x 600 ppi. However, the higher the resolution, the clearer the design will appear on your product. So as a general rule of thumb, choose the largest image file you have. Contact Customer Service for trouble uploading images.
Color Guidelines
Follow the color tips below to create the best possible image/logo for your design:
- Choose high contrasting colors for the logo and product, such as white on blue or yellow on brown.
- Avoid pairing light colored fonts with light colored backgrounds or dark colored fonts with dark colored backgrounds.
- Avoid choosing fonts and backgrounds with a similar color base, such as black on blue or white on yellow.
Effects Guidelines
Before you upload your design to our design lab, make sure you have completed the checklist below:
- Removed all backgrounds from your artwork: Set your Photoshop or image file to include ‘no background’ or your image will print with a colored background.
- Uploaded a high-resolution image to receive the clearest print.
- Matched colors in your design.
- Chosen high-contrast colors between your font, image, and background.
